A wide, sheltered north-Cornwall Atlantic beach break with a sandy bottom, offering lefts and rights up to 50m and consistent year-round surf on WNW swell. A stream mouth crosses the beach and shapes the sandbanks. Strong rip currents are a hazard, and submerged wreck plates sit at the low-tide line on the east side - lifeguards direct users to stay west of them. Dog-friendly year-round. RNLI lifeguards patrol daily mid-May to late September.
