A 2-mile Atlantic strand backed by an ancient dune system, with a sandy-bottom beach break giving lefts and rights, exposed to Atlantic swells, most consistent in spring. Watersports are zoned: swimmers between red/yellow flags, boards, SUPs and kayaks between chequered flags, powered craft only beyond post 10 in summer with a permit. RNLI lifeguards patrol daily in July-August. Rip currents occur; tide floods fast, so cars must leave by the posted time.
