Just offshore, a horseshoe-shaped reef breaks over shallow rock with a hollow left and shorter right, best at low-to-mid tide on a north-west swell with a south-east offshore wind, for experienced surfers only. Hazards include shifting sandbanks and rip currents. Seasonal lifeguards patrol.
