A wide, exposed 4-5km, WSW-facing Atlantic beach break with a sandy bottom giving lefts and rights, plus a line of submerged rocks along part of the shore. An adjacent rock-bottom reef nearby produces long right-hand rides on rare optimal swells. The main strand is best on a pushing mid tide, with the north end generally stronger. Seasonal lifeguards cover weekends in June and daily in July-August. Surf schools and equipment hire operate on-site.
