A remote, 4-mile SW-facing Atlantic beach on the southern Llŷn Peninsula, one of Wales' leading surf breaks and popular with kitesurfers and windsurfers. Mixed sand and pebble, with a rocky southern corner producing a wedgy left-hander over rock and a right-hander to the north; sandbars shift beneath well-defined banks. There is no lifeguard cover, and rip currents form, intensifying when surf is larger. Around 30 shipwrecks are recorded here.
