This is a small, sheltered sandy cove, National Trust managed, with fine-grained sand that squeaks underfoot. It's a fairly exposed, inconsistent beach break with left and right waves, suited to surfing, bodyboarding, and kayaking, best in winter and early spring on a SW swell with SE offshore wind. Submerged rocks sit in the water and strong rips are present; surfing is best at high tide. There is no lifeguard service; take extra care before entering.
