An exposed, WNW-facing Atlantic sandy beach with a sand beach break producing shifting left and right peaks, best around low-to-mid tide and closing out near high across a roughly 6m tidal range. Steady cross-shore winds also draw kitesurfers and windsurfers. Rocks to the north should be avoided; powerful shorebreak and rips are hazardous for inexperienced swimmers. RNLI lifeguards patrol seasonally.
