A sheltered, breakwater-segmented cove at the eastern edge of a larger tourist beach strip, calmer and less crowded than the main frontage, with darker volcanic sand mixed with imported golden sand and a rock wall giving wind protection - a mixed sand/rock bottom suited to snorkelling rather than open surf. The adjacent open shoreline is an exposed pebble-and-sand beach break. A seasonal lifeguard service covers the area.
