A wide, fine-sand Atlantic beach break over 3 km long, facing west-southwest and exposed to Bay of Biscay swell, used for surfing, kitesurfing and windsurfing. During the supervised season, surf, longboard and kitesurf activity is confined to a zone at the southern 'Passerelle' end. Strong rip currents (baines) are the main hazard, carrying an official municipal warning about dangerous currents. Best surf entry is at low to mid tide.
