A sheltered, south-facing sandy beach about 1 km long in a bay backed by red volcanic cliffs, with some pebble sections and calm, shallow water suited to kayaking, paddleboarding, sailing and windsurfing rather than surfing; rocky headlands offer snorkelling. Blue Flag certified with free access; a 300 m swimmer zone is buoyed when lifeguards are on duty, and dogs are generally banned on supervised beaches in summer. Two lifeguard posts run in season.
