A wide, south-facing, 1+ km fine-sand beach in a sheltered bay, a family beach with gentle beach-break waves (left and right peaks) and calm swimming; the enclosed bay makes wind irregular, limiting windsurfing and kitesurfing. Surf works best on south swell at high tide; breakwaters at the margins are a hazard. A bathing-only zone and a craft-exclusion zone bar motorised and sailing navigation in season. Lifeguards patrol through summer.
