A wide, fine-sand resort beach backed by a marina, used for calm family bathing with little wave action; a rocky point break by the port breakwater occasionally works on southeast swells but is inconsistent, with submerged rocks a hazard. Kitesurfing and windsurfing are banned in summer but permitted near the port off-season. Dogs are banned Easter to 31 October. Municipal lifeguards cover 1 April to 15 October, with towers and defibrillators.
