A compact (about 180 m) urban beach of fine sand and pebbles in a harbour bay at the northernmost tip of the Costa Brava, near the French border. Sheltered enough for swimming and watersports on calm days, it is exposed to strong NE Tramuntana wind, suiting sailing and kayaking more than surfing; a rocky offshore seabed favours snorkelling and diving. Lifeguard service operates in summer. Blue Flag certified; nudism not permitted.
