A wide, flat, Blue Flag sandy bay on a sheltered south-east coast, gently sloping with a soft sand bottom and no rock or reef hazards. Sheltered from south-westerly swells, it needs an easterly swell to produce waves, generally small and rolling, and is also used for jet-skiing and windsurfing. Dogs are banned from a stretch May-September. Seasonal lifeguards patrol daily early July to early September; an independent lifeboat gives 24/7 cover.
