This is a sheltered, predominantly sandy bay, popular with swimmers, kayakers, windsurfers, and kite surfers in calm water, backed by a steep lane and small car park. Rock pools are exposed at low tide near the headland. The beach-and-point break is inconsistent, coming to life mainly on winter SW swells with SE offshore wind. A boat exclusion zone protects the bay. There is no lifeguard; entry is safest at mid-to-high tide.
