Under light southerly thermals the water is flat to slightly choppy, suiting flatwater wind and kite sports; strong W to WNW winds build powerful, mast-high waves. A rocky ledge downwind to the west is a hazard, requiring early exit in strong westerlies. Nudism accepted at the western fringe; lifeguards operate summer.
