A world-renowned left-hand river-mouth barrel breaking over a tidal sandbar inside a biosphere reserve, producing long, hollow tubes up to 400 m; expert-level, firing an estimated 50-70 days a year, mainly October-March on NW/W Atlantic swells. Entry is by jumping from the harbour wall; exit runs through rocks with a strong rip current seaward. The wave works low-to-mid tide only and vanishes at high tide; rocks near the inside are exposed at low water.
