A small, secluded sand-and-shingle cove on the sheltered flank of a headland, backed by cliffs, rocks and a stone sea wall, with rock pools at lower tides. The sheltered aspect gives calm, flat water suited to kayaking, small-boat launching and bathing rather than surf or wind sports; a local boat club uses the slipway. At high tide the beach is almost entirely covered, reaching the sea wall; lower tides expose more sand. No lifeguard cover.
