A 5 km-long fine-sand Atlantic beach backed by protected dunes and pines, facing SSW with SW winds that make it a kitesurfing and windsurfing spot, with kitesurfing confined to a zone at the eastern end. The sandy, gently sloping seabed keeps waves under a metre - a flatwater venue rather than a surf beach, best 2 hours either side of low tide. Lifeguards cover the beach 5 July-28 August. Dogs banned 15 June-15 September.
