A wide, 2-mile open Atlantic-facing sandy beach break with reliable swell, ranging from mellow, longboard-friendly peaks in small surf to powerful, rip-prone waves as swell builds. The southern end can produce a hollow left from low to mid-tide; the northern end is one of the heavier waves around. Kitesurfing is permitted only in two designated zones, elsewhere off-limits. RNLI lifeguards patrol daily 5 Apr-2 Nov. Dogs on leads 9am-5pm in July/August.
