A wide, gently shelving 500 m sandy beach, NNE-facing and partly sheltered from Atlantic swell, suiting calm family use, windsurfing, kayaking and small-boat sailing more than serious surf; a nautical centre hires gear on the sand. Rips and undertow are noted hazards; summer surf tends to be flat. Dogs banned June-September; the north end holds a seasonal protected-species nesting zone (April-August). Lifeguards cover it daily, 12:30-19:00, July-August.
