Plage de Gâvres Canoe Forecast

Kerfaute · France

Plage de Gâvres scores 76/100 for canoe today at its best ability level (expert). The beach faces SW. This broad, fine-sand Atlantic beach break sits on Brittany's largest dune peninsula, facing SW into swell partly blocked by Île de Groix. It is a kitesurfing and sand-yachting venue, with a sheltered bay lagoon on its north side offering flat-water riding near high tide, drying at low tide. Low-to-mid tide gives the widest beach; high tide narrows it. The area is protected; craft are banned in nearby waters October-March. Lifeguards cover it July-August.
