Playa de Benijo Canoe Forecast
Almáciga · Spain
Playa de Benijo scores 73/100 for canoe today at its best ability level (expert). The beach faces NW. A black-sand beach beneath steep cliffs in Tenerife's Anaga Rural Park, a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, reached only on foot via a stairway; camping is prohibited. Bodyboarding is common, though not considered good for surfing. At low tide the sand widens to about 50m; at high tide it largely disappears against the cliffs, and strong currents require caution. Seasonal lifeguard cover runs June-September. Access was closed in July 2024 due to rockfall risk.
