Sandbanks shift with tide and swell; the beach all but disappears at high tide, so low-to-mid tide gives easiest access. Hazards include scattered rocks, rip currents, and river-outflow pollution when currents drag north. Dogs are forbidden. Lifeguards patrol daily, mid-June to mid-September.
