Inside, water is flat and sandy, suited to beginner windsurfing/kitesurfing; outside the sandbar, small upwind waves of 1-2m form. Reliable NE trade winds support an annual windsurf/kite World Cup. At low tide the lagoon empties, limiting rideable windows to a few hours. An on-site centre runs a rescue boat/jet-ski for its clients.
