A compact Atlantic beach tucked between headlands within a protected natural park, with a tide-sensitive mixed sand-and-reef bottom. At higher tides it breaks over a rocky ledge into powerful lefts and rights with barrel sections; at lower tides it becomes more of a sandy beach-break. Submerged rocks are hazardous at low tide, especially at the west end. Summer is generally calm, suited to family bathing. Lifeguards on duty 1 June-30 September.
