A wide, west-facing Atlantic sandy beach, roughly 2,500m long, where a small stream meets the sea near Alcobaça. The sandy break gives left- and right-handers on northwest swells, best with WNW swell and ESE offshore wind, rarely crowded and suited to all levels. Surfing, kitesurfing, windsurfing, canoeing, kayaking, SUP and wakeboarding are all practised here. Lifeguards are on duty 1 July-31 August; the stream mouth carries rip risk on an ebbing tide.
