Strong rip currents, particularly near the river mouth, make it one of the more hazardous beaches on this coast. Seasonal lifeguard cover runs weekends in June and daily July-August; swim only between flags. Surf is best around mid-tide. Dogs prohibited 11am-7pm in summer.
