A south-facing cove of sand and shingle beneath high limestone cliffs, partly sheltered by an offshore reef, with generally low wave exposure suited to swimming, snorkelling, and diving rather than surfing. The seabed shelves suddenly, dropping out of depth close to shore, and strong currents funnel through a nearby rock arch, with a rip current near an offshore rock.
