A wide, Atlantic-exposed sand beach flanked by two concrete breakwaters, adjoining the protected Barrinha lagoon — a Natura 2000 reserve banning motorised sports, dogs, fishing and camping. The beach is pure sand with shifting sandbanks forming A-frame peaks, best with a west swell and east-southeast offshore wind; the south jetty gives a right-hander on northwest swell. Surf and windsurf are barred from the swimmer zone.
