Sand toward Looe Bar offers calmer water at low tide. RNLI lifeguards patrol early July–early Sept, 10am–6pm; unpatrolled otherwise. Rip currents and exposed rocks are hazards. Dogs banned 10am–6pm, 1 July–31 Aug.
