An exposed river-mouth beach break where a river meets the sea, on a mixed sand-and-cobble bottom, popular with surfers, canoeists, and families. At high tide the mouth produces short lefts and longer rights, with a cobble bank sometimes creating hollow waves on spring tides; the lower sandy section exposes at low tide. RNLI lifeguards patrol daily 10:00-18:00 in summer. Best waves on the incoming tide. Hazards: rip currents and pollution after heavy rain.
