A broad, WNW-facing Atlantic sand beach break on the northern Médoc, south of the Gironde estuary mouth, used by surfers, kitesurfers and swimmers. Offshore sand banks tame large swells, giving a fallback option; best surf comes on a rising tide with west swell and offshore wind. Hazards include lateral currents at accesses and mobile sandbanks, plus strong currents near the estuary mouth. Lifeguards cover four beaches June–Sept; dogs are then banned.
